Countdown to: Cadence - The Good, The Bad, The Grimy

(Days : Hours : Minutes : Seconds)

Cadence - The Good, The Bad, The Grimy is the album that will introduce Black Collar Entertainment and its talented team of producers and artists to the world. "What I want out of this album is for people to consider it a classic," says Cadence. "There have been a lot of albums dropped in this industry and a lot of those same albums lack substance and listenability.  I love hip-hop! We at Black Collar Entertainment love hip hop!  This is not a game to me.  Anyone can hustle with the right angle. Ultimately, it comes down to what do you love?  Don't get into this game to escape being the hand to hand on the black kind of mutha fucka."  I have never seen it written that, selling drugs is a prerequisite for being an emcee."  Not everyone can be Sean Carter! They took bits and pieces from him, Biggie, and Nas.  You know?! It was like they only heard that they pushed weight, or got their hustle on.  That's crazy! They forgot about substance, skills, talent, or how Biggie's flow on a track, was like Dizzie Gillespie blowing his horn!  You know?!  The rhythm, the way he freaked it. Bomb shit!  I still roll out to Ready to Die, Reasonable Doubt, Paid In Full.  Those joints had substance.  They actually had something more to say other than, "I bodied this kid". The flows were incredible!  If I can bring that back to this culture, whereas kids are really focused on spitting and not who is pushing what, or maximizing the body count then it is real.  I grew up on those kids and Public Enemy, Paris, Rakim, Ras Kass, and kids that were just trying to get it tight and say something.  To me it is about being immortal.  With that thing in my hand I control whole masses.  They vibe of me. They are with me.  They feel what I feel.  You know?! That's what's up!  Stick (Charles Stickens), C (Cedrick Clark), Nes (Elly Nes), and Lionel, all of us we love this culture.  I would do anything for it.  I feel it.  I want everyone on this planet to feel it.  All this name droppin and shit! Kids floss too much!  It is like Stick says, 'Flossing is some shit you should do after brushing!'  Kids are out here with real problems, racism, baby mama dramas, paying bills. You can't roll out and pop in a CD and let it play anymore, because no one is saying anything.  It doesn't matter where you come from!  That doesn't determine how hard you are.  We are all men, and if pushed, we are all going to push back, we are all going to swing, and we are all going to bust if we have got it on us. There is nothing there that is so great. That is just human nature.  That is just one side. You know?!  Keep it thorough.  There is more to it than just guns and weight.  If you are really living then you know.  It is all an act!  When you see the cover? How it's going down? You are going to see that there is something more than just the nonsense.  Every flow that is me or it was me at one time in my life It is Like that whole street credibility thing, shit was made up by mutha fuckas trying to market a kid with no talent! It was like yo look at his rap sheet. I am not trying to boast about my dirt!   So now I have to have a rap sheet with mad felonies advertised for people to feel me? Shit is stupid!  All a case says is that you got caught up.  It doesn't mean you are real. Most of these kids cry like babies on the other side of OZ's walls anyway.  If it wasn't the case why is that they spend so much money hiring Cochran once they have loot to get them out of shit. I am not trying to go to jail, but I am not going to brag about take me away on a record either! Anyone can be the man on the block.  All it takes is the right circumstance with the right tools to deal with it and people are going to be leery about fucking with you again.  That doesn't make you real.  It just makes you lucky!"
